A family house, opened to whoever arrives.

Casa do Avô Capitão is the name we gave this small set of two private apartments in Helenos, Ilha Pombal — between the pine grove and the sea. The house belonged to our grandfather. "Capitão" was never a rank or a job — it was the nickname the whole village gave him as a boy, and it stuck for the rest of his life. It is still what we call him here.

The two apartments share a garden with a pool, in the shade of century-old pines. The 1-bedroom Marinheiro is meant for couples; the 2-bedroom Capitão for families or small groups. Booking one does not lock the other — keep your privacy or take the whole house together.

We look after the place the way we would look after a home for friends. If you need anything during your stay, we are minutes away — and we reply in Portuguese, English, Spanish and French.
